The answer

Tata's turnaround was built on safety and trust. Fix after-sales service, which undermines both, with a service subscription, paid over-the-air upgrades and a cross-group loyalty tier.

Tata nearly tripled its share in three years

01The problem

Tata's turnaround was built on safety and trust, but weak after-sales service undermines both.

Marketing Management, Semester 7, 2025 · 6-person team; I owned the Tata Motors workstream

02What I did

  • Researched the market and built the segmentation and targeting analysis.
  • Designed the three recommendations and sized their revenue.
  • Wrote the Tata Motors report section and slides.

03Results

Two of the three fixes are worth ₹70–120 Cr a year

Fix 3, a cross-group loyalty tier (Taj, Air India, Croma), assumes an 8% retention lift over five years and has no ₹ estimate, so it isn't on this chart.
